Hello and welcome to the Therapy in Leeds blog
Here you’ll find all the latest information and updates from Therapy in Leeds along with news and other interesting information about hypnosis and the world of hypnotherapy.
My name is Vicki Crane and I am a Hypnotherapist, NLP Practitioner and Supervisor and have been in private practice for over ten years. During this time, I’ve helped people with a wide variety of issues from unwanted habits such as stopping smoking or nail biting, to overcoming life changing problems such as phobias, low self esteem and anxiety. Although some of the issues that people experience often appear to be similar, everyone is different and each journey to overcoming the problem is unique too. As a therapist, I find my work very rewarding, particularly when just a few sessions can make such a big difference to a person’s life.
I began my initial therapy training with the Northern College of Therapeutic Hypnosis in Leeds, where I gained diplomas in Therapeutic Hypnosis and Clinical Hypnotherapy. Following this, I became a certified NLP Practitioner and since then I have continued to develop my therapy skills further with training in psychotherapy, advanced hypnosis and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
I am an Accredited Member of The National Hypnotherapy Society. The society was the first and currently the only hypnotherapy organisation to hold a register accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under its Accredited Registers programme. All members on the register must adhere to the society’s code of conduct and ethics, have undertaken appropriate training and qualifications, receive regular supervision and be fully insured as well as undertaking regular Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
As an experienced therapist, I am an approved Supervisor for The National Hypnotherapy Society and provide supervision for students, newly qualified and experienced Hypnotherapists. In addition to this, I sit on the Professional Development and Supervision Committee for both The National Hypnotherapy Society and The National Counselling Society.
I draw upon a wide variety of influences within the field of talking therapies including Hypnotherapy, Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), alongside counselling and psychotherapy approaches such as person-centred counselling and Human Givens. With a special interest in anxiety, fears and phobias, I also see people with a variety of other issues too including public speaking anxiety, confidence and self esteem, stopping smoking, weight loss, insomnia and stress management to name a few.
